I have recently bought a 1000 watt power supply from tiger direct (xion version 2.92) and installed it on my HP a1616n (to the SATA Drive (SATA), CD/DVD ROM Drive (Not sata), CPU (4 pins), and Motherboard (20+4 pins)). There are three things that happen that I think are wrong even though everything gets power:
1) The system turns on when I plug in the power cord and the power switch is on, or turn on the power switch when the power cord is plugged in. (the power switch on the psu not the ATX Mid-Tower button).
2)The blue LED around the power button in the front is supposed to stay blue when the machine is on but turns off after about 5 seconds.
3 The worst) I HAVE NO DISPLAY ON MY SCREEN! I tested the connection many times but to no avail.
Someone please help me.
If you have a stand alone graphics card, did you make sure that it is supplied sufficient power?
Did you try pressing in the machine power button (to "turn it off") and then proceed to first plugging in the power cord and then turning on the psu power switch? If your new psu is modular, did you check if everything is connected fully on both ends?

If your old psu is still in working order and powerful enough, connect it back to check if it's a system problem (or possibly how you connect everything) or if it's the psu.
