How to Replace the Backlight in an LCD Screen Panel
If the monitor on your desktop computer has been going dark recently, more than likely the backlight is broken. The good news is that this is a relatively minor problem as far as computers are concerned, and there's no need to concentrate on any other part of the computer than the monitor. So, if you don't have the time or money to take your monitor to a technician to have them replace the backlight, you can do it yourself, at home, in a matter of minutes. Power off your computer and disconnect the monitor from the computer (if possible).
Remove the screws on each side of the monitor screen. Once the screws are removed, the plastic bezel (screen guard) can be removed Pop the bezel out, exposing all of the LCD screen. Pull the LCD screen gently away from the monitor by the corner. Be mindful that the screen is still connected by a ribbon cable.
Remove the tape over the ribbon cable where it connects to the screen, and gently pull the cable to disconnect it.PCI Wireless LAN Card(Wireless PCI LAN Cards)
Turn the LCD face-down, and remove the piece of tape that holds the top metallic foil against the back of the LCD.Lift the metallic foil to expose the backlight. Remove the single screw at the end of it that holds it in place.Laptop accessories(Laptop accessories)
Unclip the wire at the end of the backlight from the inverter (power source to the backlight), and remove it from the LCD. Replace it with the new backlight (available at any electronics store or online), and reassemble the device the same way you took it apart.

For anyone who has plopped themselves down in front of the latest liquid crystal display TV, the quality of the picture being displayed can truly be astounding. It's certainly the case that modern display technology has come a long way lately, especially when it comes to extremely tiny LCD screens that can be found, for example, in certain expensive automobiles or even in modern aircraft. CRT tubes and big, fat televisions have definitely left the scene, it seems.

This actually isn't the only innovation that has begun to benefit display screens of all sizes, by the way. Currently, some really small custom LCD screens have been produced that are being used in a variety of ways, including for data display modules such as can be found in an aircraft or even more expensive automobiles. They cost less than 100 bucks and can really add not only good looks but also are a definite improvement over analog gauges.
Whether these display screens are used in televisions or as part of another application, just about all of them use much less energy than typical display screen lighting technology is capable of producing. This is especially the case with LCD TVs and other display modules that take advantage of light emitting diodes. All use a great deal less energy, and are seen in everything from aircraft cockpits to medical equipment.
A relative to the custom liquid crystal display module is the graphic LCD unit. It interfaces extremely easily with most computers through use of a common USB 2.0 port or through an older style serial port connection. Just about all of them can be easily programmed to display a wide variety of data and information and normally cost somewhere around $100 for a unit that can carry out a great deal of functions.
When it comes to innovation, it seems that some of the best work is being done in taking liquid crystal display technology -- which actually has been around for decades -- and improving it by leaps and bounds. The first big step for the LCD, when it came to consumer applications, was the flat-panel TV. Since then, a lot of work has gone into improving that display, and the televisions and other display technologies now available are a full order of magnitude better than units from just a few years ago.
