Will these parts for the computer i'm building work together?
Just needed a second opinion on if they will work. i'm pretty sure they will but just in case. my first build. They are:
-1x2gb stick of OCZ Platinum PC2-6400
-AMD Phenom II X2 545 3GHz Socket AM3
-Gigabyte AMD AM3 DDR2 SATA3 MATX - GA-M68M-S2P
-Generic Miditower black with 500W Powersupply ATX, Micro ATX
Im Not 100% about the powersupply. will it work?
I Might change the mobo for a ASRock N68-S because it has some overclocking capabilities and UCC which could come in handy.
Sure.
I'd make a couple changes, though:
1) DDR3 AM3 board with DDR3 RAM.
No new platform is ever going to be based on DDR2.
Therefore, if you platform upgrade, there is a higher chance that DDR3 will still be in use.
2) Phenom II X3 or above.
3) Brand name PSU
