How do I install wi-fi in my pc?

Dell optiplex gx-270. Can I remove the pci riser and cage all together and install my pci wi-fi card there? I have no other pci slots. The riser has 2 pci expansion slots in it, but when I plug in my card, the tower wont even turn on.

I once installed a $13 USD wifi PCI card in an Optiplex GX-240 (even older model). It worked fine.

I'm assuming you've retuned the PCI expansion card riser and everything else? Check that the power and everything is connected correctly, as it is strange that it wouldn't even turn on... Will it turn on without the PCI wifi card?
