How To Pick The Right PC Case For Your Computer
First impressions are the most important, and the same is applicable for your computer as well. While building your desktop computer you certainly give equal importance to the PC cases alike other components. Vital components like CPU, RAM, Motherboard, Hard Drive, etc. will be inside the case. Due to this reason, you need to buy the PC case carefully. Check whether the buttons and lights work properly or not before buying the case. In addition, how many USB ports are there on the front? In this article we will discuss on how to pick the right PC case for your computer.
While buying the PC case, you need to pick the right size and shape. It is natural that a bigger case can hold more optical drives and more hard drives and there will be enough room for bigger video cards. You might not be familiar with the terms like "full tower," "midtower," and "minitower." These are used to describe the size of the case. ATX PC cases measureing about 12 by 9.6 inches and microATX PC cases measuring about 9.6 by 9.6 inches are now most common in the market. To build computer if you need any PC support, you can get in touch with a computer consulting company.
Every computer case must signify what type of motherboard form factors it accepts. If the case doesn't you might end up by picking the wrong case as it might not fit your motherboard. Remember, physical measurements of a motherboard are not important in this aspect. If there is not any problem with the form factors of the case and motherboard then you will find any problem with installation.
The size of the PC case plays a very crucial role. Remember, the larger the case is, the more drive bays it is likely to have. Well, let's have a closer look. The 5.25-inch bay is used for DVD and Blu-ray optical drives. You should also decide how many 3.5" bays you'll need in your computer case. Most of the PC cases now have front USB and sound output. While buying the case, check whether the case has front USB or not. Note that front USB ports come in handy for hooking up various external devices like digital camera, external hard drive, memory stick, mp3 player, portable printer, etc.
The next important thing is the power support. Have a look at what size power supply the computer case has. Is the size of the power supple is enough to run all the application? Remember, an undersized power supply can cause a great deal of trouble. You may experience erratic computer operation like frequent rebooting.

Motherboard is to BTX standard.
----------------
Dell uses non standard power supply plugs. Sometimes their cases are not standard either.
If it was me I would get a new motherboard, case and power supply.
I would not use AMD.
Intel currently makes the 3 fastest processors.
Core 2 Extreme
Core 2 Quad
Core 2 Duo
Choose a motherboard with a 775 socket that will allow you to use the Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Extreme, and Core 2 Quad. Some will even support your existing Pentium 4 processor.
This will allow you to upgrade to a Core 2 Extreme when the prices come down. for a huge performance increase
