To buy or not buy is the buyer’s dilemma. Heightened arguments have always been held on this topic as supporters of both gadgets judiciously put forth their feedbacks, but are they enough to convince a buyer and do influence a buyer’s decision in this respect? Let’s find out some interesting facts on this particular issue.
Laptops are for young generation. Features like lesser space to acquire, wireless, mobility, battery and stylish look have made a laptop most convincing and a viable option for young buyers. Laptops offer facilities like operating from part of the world, whether you are in a garden or in college or at home. With so many cool features of laptops available to the consumers, there are still some spaces offered to desktop PCs where the latter outperforms the former. If you are choosing in between a laptop or a desktop and have prioritised multi-tasking functionality with high performance and want everything with an extra boost and low cost, the desktop PCs are good choice for you. Customisation is another feature that puts desktop PCs ahead of laptops. So far as manufacturers are concerned, they put emphasis on both segments and every then and now a new product is launched to lure buyers. Digging Deeper Into SFP Transceivers
A compact, hot-pluggable optical transceiver, the Small Form-Factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver is used in optical communications for both data communications applications. SFP is the interface between a network device mother board and a fiber optic or copper cable network cable.
The SFP transceiver is able to support Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Channel, SONET, and quite a lot of other communications standards. FYI, SFP is going to expand to SFP+ in the near future. At that time, data rate at 10 Gbits/s will be possible, including 8 Gigabit Fiber Channel. Compared to Xenpac or XFP type of modules which have all of their circuitry inside, an SFP+ module leaves some of its circuitry to be implemented on the host board.
The SFP transceiver has a numerous variation available, each with different transmitter or receivers. This permits the user to configure and customize the transceiver to get the proper optical reach with either a multi-node fiber or single-node fiber type. Furthermore, the optical SFP module comes in four categories - SX, which is 850nm, LX, which is 1310nm, ZX, which 1550nm and DWDM. All f them have an interface of a copper cable which allows a host device to communicate via USTP (unshielded twisted-pair) network cable. CWDM and single-node bi-directional fiber optic cables are also available; these optic cables are 1310/1490nm upstream and downstream.
Practically available, the SFP transceiver has the capability transfer rates of up to 4.25 Gbit/s. XFP, a form factor which is virtually similar to the SFP type, raises this amount by nearly three times, at 10 Gbit/s. The SFP transceiver is specified and made compatible via a multi-source agreement (MSA) between manufacturers, in order for different users who may use equipment from different manufacturers and providers can work smoothly and effectively without worrying about inconveniences and errors.
The GBIC interface is the pioneer to the SFP, hence it's nicknamed as mini-GBIC. However, the SFP allows greater port density (number of transceivers per inch along the edge of a mother board) than the GBIC. There is also the related Small Form-Factor (SFF) transceiver which is about the same size as the SFP. Instead of being attached into an edge-card socket, it is directly attached to the mother board as a pin through-hole device.
Digital optical monitoring (DOM) or digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) functions are supported by the modern optical SFP transceiver according to the industry specifications of the SFF-8472 MSA. Owing to this feature, the user has the ability to constantly monitor real-time parameters of the SFP, such as optical input/outp power, supply voltage and laser bias current.
Those being said, it's good to know that the SFP transceiver is a very popular format that is recommended by quite a number of fiber optic component providers. These companies carry SFP transceivers for all Cisco devices together with transceiver modules for many other manufacturers. So, if you need technology solutions for your networking applications, you now what to look for.

I already have a monitor
well, you only have 2GB of RAM, that's not a good thing for gaming in any way, if you want to play a game like CoD4, you would need at least 4GB RAM and a good graphics card. Your processor seems alright seeing as it is 3GHz, but the RAM is terrible, sorry.
Also, @Mike Hawk; The person states in the specs that she does not have a disk drive, so why would they ever buy a disk for it? They would clearly download it off of a thing like steam.
