shower tower fixed to tiled wall ?

i got a shower tower ( metal ) fitted in my shower cubicle but it is corroding and need s replacing. my question is this, as the plumber sealed around the tower with clear silicone sealant, is there some type of solvent that can remove this? i dont want to scrape it off in case i scratch the wall tiles
