Sony ICF-C7IP Clock Radio For IPod And IPhone With Hidden Sliding Dock Tray: A Review
I-devices are incredibly popular, we all know that. But did you ever imagine adding functionality to other devices by incorporating an i-device dock in them? Sony did. In fact, it produced the Sony ICF-C7IP clock radio with hidden sliding dock for iPod and iPhone.
Design
This is the cutest device because of its distinctive sliding tray design. The tray is really the dock for the i-device, whether or not it is an iPod or iPhone. You basically need to push the dock tray, and it ejects halfway. Pull it out, and you'll be able to now dock your i-device. My iPhone is virtually often on this dock whenever I'm home. I can play my tracks from the iPhone to the radio whilst I'm working within the home, taking a bath, doing some work, or just relaxing.
Its nice circular face makes it an adorable addition to the household décor. The black and white finish is ideal for any other room color. It's flexible, simple to handle, and straightforward to set on any tabletop or bedside. It is quite compact, and in case you are not employing the iPhone dock, it looks so modest on your bedside table. With the dimensions of 5'' x 7.6'' x 6.5'' and a weight of 2.1 pounds, it's acceptably transferable from 1 room to yet another, but the FM wire antenna makes this a hassle. I do not use the radio a lot, though, so I do not mind disconnecting it from time to time.
Video
The nice LED display is large sufficient to be read at an excellent distance, and it has good indicators that show all of the needed data you require from the clock. It has a specific AM and PM indicator utilizing the words themselves, a day indicator, an alarm sound indicator, daylight savings time symbol, and a clear LED display of a 12-hour time format. It also has brightness control so do not you worry about it being too dim or too bright.
Audio
There's volume control, that's a good point, and also the tuner is digital. It also has 30 preset radio stations for less complicated navigation. But the reception is the worst flaw of this device. A wire antenna means an unmovable clock that needs a precise position to get the best reception. Very good factor I'm not a lot of a radio user, but for those out there who are, beware. This is a clock and not a boom box. And why listen to the radio in case you could listen to your iPod tunes instead?
Clock
The alarm is ideal. There's completely nothing bad it is possible to say about it. The controls are straightforward to make use of, the clock automatically adjusts to daylight savings time, you can find two alarm settings that you can use for various schedules, you can set the alarm sound to a buzzer, radio, or i-device soundtrack, and you are able to set the snooze to 10 minutes up to 60 minutes of extra sleep time. It's the best alarm clock I've ever had.
Other Features
The cool factor about the ICF-C7IP is its remote control, but it is only good for operating the iPod or iPhone when it's docked on the tray. You can't use it a lot for navigating by way of the clock, but it does have radio functions.
It also has a back-up battery for unexpected power outages, and you won't have difficulties for your alarm needs on such instances.
When you dock the i-device, it automatically charges and you'll be able to also play the songs in it even though doing so. It is possible to even browse on your iPhone whilst charging it on the dock. It makes the device so a lot more functional. I specially like to dock my iPhone through the night so it plays my favorite songs until it reaches the sleep time, when the device automatically turns of my iPhone player.
Conclusion
Whether or not it's an iPod dock or an alarm clock, one thing's for positive: it is 1 functional device. And I wouldn't want any other model due to the fact the Sony ICF-C7IP clock radio is absolutely ideal for me.
I'm looking for inexpensive black trays for my centerpieces...?
My idea includes a medium sized, square, black tray that will have varying heights of square vases on them with water/gel, candles and possibly decorative stones. What I'm really looking for is the black trays. They don't need to be anything incredible as they will be covered, but I really really don't want to use the typical mirror base.
Believe it or not, Walmart might be a good place to start if you don't need that many. They have black trays for candles, and you'd also want to check the dishes, because square ones are becoming popular and the main entree plate might be just the right size for you. If not that, places like Kohls, Penney's etc could have this.
If you need a bunch, I'd check with amazon.com or overstock.com. I can almost guarantee they'd have what you need, but it will take time to find it. The search strings aren't the best!
